CervicalCheck Free Screening

During European Cervical Cancer Prevention Week (25 – 31 January 2015), CervicalCheck asked women to call Freephone 1800 45 45 55 and receive a free Pearl of Wisdom pin, the symbol of the European cervical cancer prevention campaign.

CervicalCheck reminds women aged 25 to 60 that free, regular cervical screening is the most effective method to reduce their risk of developing cervical cancer. Women are asked to wear or share their Pearl of Wisdom with someone they care about aged 25 to 60, and remind her how easy it is to arrange a regular free smear test.

Why Screening Matters

Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers when detected early through regular screening. A cervical smear test can identify changes in the cells of the cervix before they become cancerous, allowing for early treatment that is highly effective.

If you are a woman aged between 25 and 60, you are entitled to a free smear test through CervicalCheck, Ireland's national cervical screening programme. Do not delay — contact your GP or CervicalCheck directly to arrange your next screening.
